The Market Is Waiting for a Real Catalyst
Positive macro news isn’t lifting crypto. Negative news is hitting it hard.
CPI came in at 3.4%, core CPI at 2.5%, while PPI cooled sharply. September rate-hike odds also fell from 40% to 32%.
Yet $BTC is still stuck around $64K, while $ETH keeps struggling below $1,900. More than 60K traders were liquidated in 24 hours, and ETF flows haven’t provided the needed support.
Meanwhile, US equities are reacting very differently, with SanDisk up 10% and SK Hynix gaining more than 7%.
So the question is no longer whether inflation is cooling.
The real question is:
What catalyst is crypto actually waiting for?
Maybe it’s not another CPI print or Fed headline.
It could be liquidity, ETF demand, clearer Fed direction, or simply a fresh narrative strong enough to bring risk appetite back.
Until then, good news may remain “priced in” while bad news keeps triggering volatility.
The market isn’t waiting for better data.
It’s waiting for conviction.
