$BTC $ETH

After talking so much about ETH, what about the use of BTC? Does it feel neglected? This is also what I find most interesting. Many people like to pit BTC and ETH against each other, but I increasingly feel that they might not even be in the same race in the future. My understanding is increasingly like this: BTC is a reserve asset. ETH is financial infrastructure. The value of BTC does not come from how many applications it can run. Nor does it come from how much cash flow it can generate. Its greatest role is: To become a global digital reserve asset that no one can arbitrarily inflate or easily tamper with. So BTC is more like: Gold. Digital gold. It might even become a digital reserve on the balance sheets of some countries, companies, and institutions in the future. ETH is different. ETH is more like: U.S. Treasury bonds + Wall Street clearing system + financial collateral. It does not exist to store wealth. But to enable the entire on-chain financial system to operate. So: BTC hopes people keep holding it. ETH hopes people keep using it. The fewer people trade BTC, the more valuable it might become. The more people trade ETH, the more valuable it theoretically is. This is why I increasingly dislike comparing BTC and ETH. Because they solve two completely different problems. If Crypto really develops into a complete financial system in the future, then I believe: BTC is more like the "central bank reserve asset" in the whole system. Responsible for value storage. Responsible for credit anchoring. Responsible for ultimate reserves. And: ETH is more like the "financial operating system" in the whole system. Responsible for lending. Responsible for collateral. Responsible for clearing. Responsible for asset issuance. Responsible for the operation of the entire financial system. So many people ask: Does BTC have any use? My answer is actually: The greatest use of BTC might be "not much use". Because the less complex functions it undertakes, the easier it is to maintain extreme security, stability, and trustworthiness. ETH is exactly the opposite. It continuously adds functions and expands its ecosystem, thus taking on more value creation as well as more technical, governance, and competitive risks. One is responsible for "storing," the other for "using." One pursues the ultimate monetary attribute, the other pursues the ultimate financial attribute. If an on-chain financial world really forms in the future, I believe BTC and ETH are more likely to be complementary rather than substitutes. $BTC $ETH
