Flash Earn Hold to Earn FAQ
1. What is Hold to Earn?
Hold to Earn is a promotional rewards programme under Flash Earn. Eligible users can opt in to selected campaigns, hold qualifying assets during the applicable campaign period, and receive token rewards calculated according to the applicable campaign rules.
2. Who is eligible to participate?
Users who have completed the identity verification required for the relevant campaign and meet its eligibility requirements may participate. Eligibility may vary by jurisdiction, OKX entity, account type, KYC status, sanctions or compliance status, and other campaign-specific criteria.
Participation is limited to eligible main account holders unless the applicable campaign rules state otherwise. Sub-accounts, KYB users, institutional accounts, and other restricted users may not be eligible.
Please refer to the applicable campaign page and announcement for the latest eligibility requirements.
3. Which accounts and assets are eligible?
Eligible accounts, assets, balances, positions, and holding requirements vary by campaign. Only holdings within the scope stated on the applicable campaign page will count toward rewards.
4. How do I join a campaign, and when do rewards start?
To participate, open the Hold to Earn campaign page during the registration period, click “Join Now” and agree to the applicable terms. You must successfully enroll before your eligible holdings can be considered for rewards, unless the campaign rules state otherwise.
Rewards start accruing at 00:00:00 UTC on the day after successful enrollment. No rewards accrue for the UTC day on which you enroll. Reward calculation is limited to the active campaign period.
Example: if you join at 12:00 UTC on Day 1, you earn no rewards for Day 1. Your first eligible calculation window is Day 2, 00:00:00–23:59:59 UTC, provided it falls within the active campaign period. Rewards for Day 2 become claimable only after Day 2 ends and its daily settlement is complete; there is no guaranteed fixed claim time.
5. Do I need to subscribe or stake my assets?
No. Hold to Earn generally does not require you to subscribe, stake, or transfer your assets into a campaign pool. Rewards are calculated based on the eligible assets in your account unless the applicable campaign rules state otherwise.
Hold to Earn is different from products that require subscription or staking. You remain responsible for your own trading, transfers, withdrawals, redemptions, and other account activity.
6. How are my qualifying holdings determined?
Qualifying holdings are determined using the account scope, asset scope, holding requirements, snapshot method, pricing method, and other data methodologies specified in the applicable campaign rules.
Values and balances displayed on the campaign page are for reference only and may differ from the values used in final settlement. Your final reward amount is determined by the settlement records under the applicable campaign rules.
7. How are my rewards calculated?
Reward calculations vary by campaign and may depend on the eligible asset, holding value, holding period, reward mode, reward pool, applicable caps, limits, and other campaign rules. A campaign may use a fixed APR, a daily reward pool, or another calculation method.
Daily calculation window. Each UTC campaign day runs from 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 UTC. Rewards start accruing at 00:00:00 UTC on the day after successful enrollment. No rewards accrue for the UTC day on which you enroll. Reward calculation is limited to the active campaign period. The daily minimum is determined separately for each eligible UTC day.
Qualifying holding value. Only eligible assets held in the specified account types in your main account count toward the campaign. Their combined USD value (as determined by OKX) is recorded at each applicable random snapshot. Your daily qualifying holding value is the lowest of these combined USD values for that day, not your average balance or end-of-day balance. Sub-account holdings and assets outside the campaign’s eligible scope do not count.
Minimum requirement. If your daily qualifying holding value is below the minimum specified for the campaign, it is treated as zero for reward allocation and you receive no reward for that day. The minimum qualifying holding value and any daily or campaign-wide reward caps will be specified in the applicable campaign rules.
Reward formula, before caps and rounding: Your daily reward = your daily qualifying holding value ÷ the total daily qualifying holding value of all eligible participants × that day’s reward pool. The result is denominated in the campaign’s reward asset, which may differ from the assets you hold.
Daily pool and limits. The total campaign reward budget is divided across the campaign’s confirmed eligible settlement days, with any budget-division remainder included in the final day’s pool. After allocating rewards by share, applicable individual daily and campaign-wide caps are applied, and rewards are rounded down to the reward asset’s supported precision. Any USD-denominated cap is applied using the campaign’s specified valuation method. Amounts left undistributed because of thresholds, caps or rounding are not redistributed or carried forward.
Example: rewards calculation. On an eligible reward day after enrollment, if an applicable snapshot records USD 500 of eligible assets and you later increase your holdings of eligible assets to USD 10,000 during the same UTC day, that day’s calculation still uses USD 500, provided no other applicable snapshot records a lower value. The next UTC day is calculated separately: if its lowest qualifying snapshot value is USD 10,000, that day uses USD 10,000. Price movements can also change your USD holding value.
Example: your share of the pool. If your daily qualifying holding value is USD 500, all eligible participants’ combined daily qualifying holding value is USD 100,000, and the daily pool is 1,000 reward tokens, your share is 0.5% and your reward before caps and rounding is 5 reward tokens. These figures are illustrative only and do not represent confirmed campaign amounts or limits.
Settlement and claiming. Rewards become claimable after the relevant UTC day ends and daily settlement is complete. There is no guaranteed fixed daily claim time. Displayed balances and estimated APR are for reference only. For campaigns that use a daily reward pool, the estimated APR is not a fixed or guaranteed return. The applicable campaign page will provide the key calculation terms. Any displayed APR, estimated reward, progress bar, budget information, or other live figure is for reference only and does not guarantee a reward.
8. What asset will I receive as a reward?
Rewards are paid in the reward asset specified on the applicable campaign page. The reward asset may differ from the asset you hold. Rewards are subject to the applicable campaign budget, eligibility requirements, caps, limits, precision, rounding, and settlement rules.
9. When do rewards become claimable?
Rewards are calculated for each applicable UTC campaign day and made available to claim once per day after the relevant daily settlement is complete. The exact claim time may vary depending on the campaign rules and the completion of data validation and review.
10. How do I claim my rewards?
Once rewards become claimable, you can claim the available amount from the applicable Hold to Earn campaign page. OKX may use reconciliation and other controls to prevent duplicate payouts.
11. What happens if I sell, transfer, withdraw, or redeem my assets?
You do not need to redeem from Hold to Earn because your assets are generally not subscribed into a campaign pool. However, selling, transferring, withdrawing, redeeming, or otherwise reducing your eligible holdings may reduce your qualifying holding value and may reduce or eliminate your rewards.
Please review the applicable campaign rules before making changes to your eligible holdings.
12. What happens after the campaign ends?
Unclaimed rewards are automatically transferred to your Funding Account or another account designated by OKX only after the campaign ends and final settlement is completed. During the campaign, settled rewards remain available for you to claim manually; they are not automatically transferred to your account.
Rewards that have already been claimed will not be paid again through the automatic transfer.
13. Can my rewards be delayed, withheld, adjusted, or cancelled?
Rewards may be delayed, adjusted, withheld, or cancelled if OKX identifies data, pricing, settlement, payment, eligibility, sanctions, compliance, technical, duplicate-payment, or other issues that may affect the accuracy, legality, or integrity of the campaign. Rewards already credited to your account will not be deducted as a result of settlement corrections.
OKX may also disqualify participants or revoke eligibility for fraudulent, abusive, manipulative, deceptive, illegal, or otherwise irregular conduct, including attempts to bypass campaign or geographic restrictions.
14. Are Hold to Earn rewards investment advice or guaranteed returns?
No. Hold to Earn is a time-limited promotional rewards campaign programme and is not investment, financial, accounting, legal, regulatory, or tax advice. Crypto and digital assets are volatile, involve risk, and may lose value. Historical returns and past performance do not guarantee future results. Hold to Earn, its assets, and its campaigns may be limited or unavailable in some regions.
You are responsible for any applicable taxes, fees, and other costs associated with receiving or using rewards. Please consult an appropriate professional about your specific circumstances.
15. Where can I find the rules for a specific campaign?
See the applicable campaign page and the latest Hold to Earn announcement for the campaign period, eligible assets, reward asset, reward mode, calculation method, limits, eligibility requirements, and other Campaign Rules. You may also refer to Flash Earn Terms and Conditions.
16. What is the difference between the Latest APR and the Est. APR?
The Latest APR reflects your annualized return for the previous day, while the Est. APR provides an indicative estimate for the current day and is updated hourly. You can view both figures on the campaign page.
17. If I join halfway through a UTC day, when do rewards start?
Rewards start accruing from 00:00:00 UTC on the next UTC day after successful enrollment, provided the campaign is still active. No rewards accrue for the UTC day on which you join.
Example: If you successfully enroll at 12:00 UTC on Day 1, you earn no rewards for Day 1. Provided the campaign is still active and you meet its requirements, your first eligible calculation window is Day 2, 00:00:00–23:59:59 UTC. Rewards for Day 2 become claimable only after that UTC day ends and daily settlement is complete; there is no guaranteed fixed claim time.
18. How often are snapshots taken?
Snapshots are taken at random, irregular times during each applicable UTC campaign day. Specific snapshot times and fixed intervals are not disclosed. For daily minimum-holding calculations, the lowest qualifying USD value across the applicable snapshots is used. The estimated APR may update hourly, but this is separate from the snapshot schedule and does not mean that rewards are calculated or paid hourly.
19. Can I cancel my enrollment, and must I join each new campaign separately?
Once you have successfully enrolled, your enrollment cannot be cancelled. This does not lock your assets into a campaign pool; changes to your holdings remain subject to the relevant product and platform rules and may affect your rewards. You must actively enroll in each campaign you wish to join. Joining one campaign does not automatically enroll you in another.
20. Where can I view my reward payout history?
Open the relevant Hold to Earn campaign page and tap the arrow next to Accumulated Rewards to view your reward payout history.
