BTC | Weak Consumption, Sticky Inflation
July U.S. retail sales fell 0.6% MoM, far below the +0.1% expected. August consumer sentiment also dropped to 51.0, while inflation expectations climbed to 4.3%.
The market is getting two opposite signals:
• Weaker consumption → less pressure for further rate hikes, mildly bullish for BTC
• Higher inflation expectations → rates may stay elevated for longer, creating medium-term pressure
BTC Levels to Watch: $63,000 remains a key long-liquidation zone.
A high-volume break below $62,500 could trigger another wave of forced selling.
Risk management matters here. Reduce exposure around $63K, keep the remaining position protected below $62.5K, and only consider adding back if BTC shows strong volume-backed support around $62.8K–$63K.
Weak demand is short-term supportive. Sticky inflation is the bigger medium-term risk.
The trend may not have changed — but the rhythm has.
