29 wins in a row… and then one trade reminds you that the market doesn’t care how confident you feel. $SNDK hit my stop loss today. I added around $1,223, with the position initially built near $1,230. My average ended up around $1,228, and the stop was around $1,205. One sharp spike… and the trade was gone. Was the stop loss wrong? No. The real mistake was how I managed the position. I see three things I got wrong this time: 1️⃣ I was too aggressive with the position size. After 29 consecutive wins, I'll admit it—I became a little too confident. On a high-volatility stock like SNDK, giving the trade only about 23 points of room was simply too tight. I was expecting the market to respect my level instead of respecting the market's volatility. 2️⃣ I added too early. My entries were too close together. Adding around $1,234 and then $1,223 only created a small gap between positions. When volatility hit, the entire position was exposed to the same move. Next time, I need to give my adds more room and let the average price actually improve rather than stacking everything in one small range. 3️⃣ I trusted support more than price action. I believed the $1,200 area would hold and that SNDK would bounce. That was my assumption—and the market proved me wrong. And that's okay. A stop loss isn't a failure. It's the cost of staying in the game. After 29 consecutive wins, eventually there will be a losing trade. That's trading. I'm not a machine, and I'm definitely not going to pretend every trade will be perfect. The important part isn't avoiding every loss. It's making sure one loss can never destroy the progress from the last 29 trades. This one hurt the ego more than the account. 😅 But the lesson is valuable: wait for better entries, size positions properly, and give volatile assets enough room to breathe. One losing trade doesn't destroy a trading system. The pyramid wasn't built in a day—and it won't collapse because of one bad trade. 😂 Back to work.
