Circle just reported that USDC circulation reached $77.2 billion at the end of Q2. That’s up 90% from a year ago. But the part I find more interesting is what happens next. Circle is building @arc, its own blockchain, where USDC will be used as the gas token. So after spending years putting USDC on almost every major chain, Circle is now building a chain around USDC itself. At $77B+ already circulating, they’re not exactly starting from zero users or zero liquidity either.
