🧵 BTC above $65K. What's actually driving this move
1/ BTC is currently trading around $65,000, up roughly 1% on the day. Today's range has been $64,824–$65,065 — fairly tight, which points to an accumulation phase.
2/ Context: over the past 12 months, BTC is down roughly 44% from its yearly peak, while the 52-week range shows $57,832–$126,186 — suggesting we're still far from the cycle's extremes.
3/ On the institutional side, Michael Saylor's Strategy continues to announce plans for BTC-centered expansion, with a stated goal of becoming the world's largest company by market cap through Bitcoin holdings.
4/ On the flip side, MARA has sold $1.5B worth of BTC in H1 2026, and miner profitability is sitting near all-time lows amid falling hashprice. This shows not every player is positioned bullish.
5/ My take: this is a mixed picture — institutional accumulation on one side, miner distress and supply pressure on the other. In moments like this, price often stays range-bound until one force takes over.
💬 Which force do you think wins out over the next 2-3 weeks — institutional accumulation, or miner/holder selling pressure?
