⚡ Miner profitability is near all-time lows — why every BTC holder should care
Bitcoin miner profitability (hashprice) is currently sitting near historic lows, as hashrate keeps climbing while price hasn't yet reclaimed previous peaks.
Why this matters:
When miner profitability is low, weaker, higher-cost-structure miners come under financial pressure. Historically, this has led to:
— Weaker miners exiting (capitulation)
— A temporary drop in overall hashrate
— Sometimes increased short-term selling pressure, as miners liquidate reserves to cover costs
The longer-term angle:
Historically, miner capitulation phases have often preceded market bottoms, as the weakest hands exit the system and the network rebalances.
My take: this is a metric worth watching over the coming weeks, not an immediate panic or opportunity signal. Structural shifts in the network usually take time before they show up in price.
💬 Do you track hashprice in your analysis, or do you focus more on price action?
Personal observation, not financial advice.
