🚨 A softer U.S. dollar was expected to support crypto... so why are $BTC and $ETH still underperforming?
That's the market divergence traders need to pay attention to.
Between July 29 and July 31, the Japanese yen strengthened while the U.S. dollar weakened—conditions that typically favor risk assets.
Yet instead of moving higher, Bitcoin and Ethereum remained under pressure.
Friday highlighted the gap even more:
📈 S&P 500: +0.7%
📈 Nasdaq: +1.0%
📉 Crypto: Still trailing behind.
If equities are advancing and the dollar is losing strength, why isn't crypto keeping pace?
The likely reason: liquidity remains constrained.
A weaker dollar or expectations of lower rates aren't enough on their own. Without fresh capital flowing into the crypto market, Bitcoin and Ethereum may continue to lag while investors favor traditional equities.
The key takeaway?
Don't expect macro tailwinds to automatically translate into crypto gains.
The narrative may look bullish...
...but price action is the only confirmation that matters.
