EIP-8363 is still a draft and has not been approved for any future Ethereum upgrade. It proposes increasing the burn of consensus-layer rewards as staking expands, with issuance fully offset when staking approaches 50% of ETH supply. Lower dilution could benefit holders and limit excessive staking concentration. The tradeoff is that reduced yields may raise validator economics pressure, particularly for independent operators, potentially weakening decentralization.
