The biggest mistake people make is thinking shorting AI means you're bearish on AI. It doesn't.
Shorting AI is about betting against a bubble inflated by capital flows and excessive leverage. Being bullish on AI is about believing we're at the beginning of a long-term industrial revolution.
Those two ideas can exist at the same time.
In many ways, it reminds me of Bitcoin. Imagine BTC had just surged to $200,000. Futures open interest is at all-time highs, funding rates are sitting at 0.3%, and everyone is piled into leveraged longs.
In that environment, shorting isn't a bet against Bitcoin's future—it's a bet that the market has become overheated.
The same logic applies to AI today.
Meanwhile, the people who insist AI (or Bitcoin) is just a scam keep getting proven wrong over the long run, no matter how the market moves in the short term.
That's the difference between trading the cycle and understanding the secular trend.
