I would not read MARA’s 23,093 BTC sale as simple panic selling. Miners operate differently from long-term holders. ⛏️
MARA reportedly sold around $1.6 billion in Bitcoin during H1 2026 at an average price of $70,631 to fund operations and expansion.
The important detail is that these sales were far larger than newly mined production alone, meaning part of the existing treasury became business capital.
That can reduce dependence on debt or new share issuance, but it also creates steady spot supply.
I’m watching what the expansion produces next: lower mining costs, more hashrate and stronger cash flow or simply a smaller Bitcoin reserve.
